Eddie Smyth comes from the historic town of Trim, Co. Meath and from an early age was involved in the rich cultural heritage of his native: the world famous Boyne Valley region of Ireland. A man totally dedicated to his instrument, Eddie is self taught and is regarded on the Irish folk scene both at home and abroad as one of Ireland's top button-accordion players.

He was (not only) inspired by the great masters of the day, the likes of Joe Cooley, Paddy O'Brian. But in more recent times by the great Jackie Daly. From an early age Eddie has appeared on TV and radio and has played for large audiences throughout Europe and the USA. When he is not on stage with INISH, Eddie is busy composing and arranging new pieces for the band.
